Game rules
The Rules of the Game shall be those of the Football Association, except where stated i.e duration of the game.
Game duration
6th Form – 45mins each way, 10mins each way extra time accept Final which goes straight to penalties.
Year 11 – 40mins each way, 10mins each way extra time accept Final which goes straight to penalties.
Year 10 – 35mins each way, 10mins each way extra time accept Final which goes straight to penalties.
Year 9 – 35mins each way, 10mins each way extra time accept Final which goes straight to penalties.
Year 8 – 30mins each way, 7 1/2mins each way extra time accept Final which goes straight to penalties.
Year 7 – 30mins each way, 7 1/2mins each way extra time accept Final which goes straight to penalties.
No REPLAYS if no result after extra time then penalties.
Equipment
6th Form – Size 5 Match ball
Year 11 – Size 5 Match ball
Year 10 – Size 5 Match ball
Year 9 – Size 4 Match ball
Year 8 – Size 4 Match ball
Year 7 – Size 4 Match ball
Where schools have similar colours, the home team shall be entitled to retain their colours and the visiting team shall change colours which will provide a satisfactory contrast.
Players and eligibility
Games are to be played 11 v 11
Only bona fide pupils in full time education on the roll of a school/academy in affiliation to the MSFA shall be allowed to take part in these competitions. A player must be within the age limit of the competition at midnight between the previous 31 August and 1 September.
A player may play up ONE age group for example a year 8 can play for a year 9 team.
A player CANNOT play up TWO age groups for example a year 8 cannot play for a year 10 team.
ONLY 6th former players can play in 6th form games. NO year 11’s can play up as this would mean the possibility of them playing against year 13 and 14 players which violates the 2 age group rule.
A pupil shall not play for more than one school/academy in a competition during any one season, except by permission of the Officers.
Girls are allowed to play in all age competitions except 6th Form
Results
Results should be sent to the competition organiser by both schools/academies within 48 hours of the conclusion of the match.
The Officers shall have the power to deal with anything not provided for in these Rules.
